There are number of small, inexpensive gyms in the area -- the Big Gym on W. 181st Street and St. Nicholas Blvd. ($250/year) ; the YMHA on Nagle ($300/year); and Victor's on Sherman Ave ($N/A). While the facilities and classes of these gyms pale compared to NYSC, Crunch, Equinox, etc., compared to the prices of most Manhattan gyms, they are a true bargain.

In Fort Tryon Park, Friends of Fort Tryon sponsors free Fitness Walking and Sunset Yoga (seasonal) group classes. E-mail HealthWriter2@aol.com to register or for additional details, or visit the Friends of Fort Tryon Park website.
