River, the building incorporates elements from five medieval
French cloisters and from other monastic sites in southern
France. The Cloisters is a branch of the Metropolitan
Museum of Art that boasts a splendid collection of medieval
artifacts, paintings and architecture.

in 1904, the HSA is dedicated to the art and culture of
Latin America and the Iberian Peninsula. In addition to
permanent collection displays that include paintings by

Morris-Jumel
Mansion
This is Manhattan's oldest house. It was headquarters
to General Washington in September and October of 1776
and is currently a museum. Through architecture and a
diverse collection of decorative arts objects, each room
of the Morris-Jumel Mansion reveals a specific aspect
of its colorful history from the 18th through the 19th
